Dr. Naomi Habib, MD

NAOMI Clinical preview-042

Greetings!

I am a long-time resident of Phoenix, Arizona, having lived here for the past 23 years. I began my career as an ICU nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, where I realized I loved 2 things–caring for patients one-on-one, and taking care of the heart and lungs! It was with this goal that I decided to go to medical school to become a physician, and in the process where I encountered Dr. Jeremy Feldman, a pulmonary hypertension specialist, while at the same time having a personal friend who was also diagnosed with this disease. I personally experienced how aggressive pulmonary hypertension can be, destroying the lives of families, children, parents, and communities. After graduating, I pursued further training with Dr. Feldman, completing a specialized pulmonary vascular fellowship in pulmonary hypertension. Gaining expert knowledge has been one of the great joys of my job, and though I was very sad to see him go, I was honored to assume the care of some of the best patients on earth.

The world continues to change despite our best efforts, and much in the landscape of Phoenix pulmonary care has changed in the past several years with it. It is essential that we as physicians keep up with these changes, so that all patients across Phoenix have access to excellent pulmonary care.  With that being said, and after much consideration, I am happy to announce that I have negotiated the FIRST full-time outpatient pulmonary hypertension clinic position at Norton Thoracic Institute, in downtown Phoenix, to serve the patients of Phoenix.  I will be seeing patients with pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary fibrosis, but also welcome all of those seeking pulmonary care (COPD, bronchiectasis, asthma, I love to see it all!). Most of all, I will be dedicating my energies to this FULL-TIME where I can grow a space and community of which we can be proud.

My main goal in pulmonary hypertension (and ALL lung diseases!) is to educate you, empower you, and most of all to make you FEEL BETTER–I firmly believe that if you don’t understand your disease, and aren’t feeling better as a result of your treatments (especially in the context of pulmonary hypertension!), then we have work to do.  I built this website specifically for this reason, so that you as a patient can gain more understanding of their disease, and in the process learn how to live a life that is thriving and full of hope.

Please enjoy looking through the website, sign up for email updates about our clinic, and feel free to contact me with any questions.  Most of all, consider coming in for an appointment so that we can have a personal conversation about your concerns and the goals you have for your care–in the way only an ex-nurse-turned-pulmonary physician can, with some of the best patients in the world.  I look forward to seeing you there!
